How to find this venue...
Directions from Junction 18, M4 to Barrow Castle, Rush Hill, Bath
Do not put the postcode for Barrow Castle into a GPS, as it takes you up a lane behind the house. At the bottom of the drive is 66 Rush Hill, use this postcode, BA2 2QP.
Proceed down A46 in the direction of Bath for about 8 miles then take the exit marked Bath A4. Proceed along A4 towards Bath for just under two miles when you will come to traffic lights (City Centre straight on) where you turn left following the signs for Warminster and Radstock.
In a 1/3 of a mile you will come to a mini roundabout. The Warminster road goes to the left and you turn right, following the signs for Radstock. Very shortly you will come to the next roundabout where you take the second exit . You go straight on at the next traffic lights and proceed through Widcombe Village and on until you come to a large roundabout with the railway going over the top of it on a viaduct.
Here you take the first left, which is the A367, towards Radstock. Proceed up the hill, round two big bends and through the shops at Bear Flat with the Bear pub on your right. Shortly after the Bear pub you take the right hand fork, marked Bloomfield Road. Half a mile up Bloomfield Road at a small crossroads turn right into Englishcombe Lane.
Proceed along Englishcombe Lane for about a mile until you get to a T junction where you turn left. Almost immediately you will see Bath Community Academy on your right and straight after that on the right you will see some stone pillars (next to a garage with a brown wooden door). Turn right through the stone pillars and proceed right to the top of the drive where you will find Barrow Castle on your right. There is parking at the venue, but please do not bring camper vans. (There is a camping park just down the road called Newton Park if you wish to camp). You can park immediately outside the Castle or in the square courtyard adjacent to the castle. Please do not park immediately before the coach house.
Directions from Bristol
Leave Bristol on the A4 towards Bath. After you have been through Saltford and two miles before Bath you will come to a large roundabout, ignore the first exit to Bath (A4), and take the second exit marked to Combe Down and Newton St Loe.
Proceed for 2.3 miles on this road when you will see Bath Community Academy on your right and straight after that on the right you will see some stone pillars (next to a garage with a brown wooden door). Turn right through the stone pillars and proceed right to the top of the drive where you will find Barrow Castle on your right. There is parking at the venue, but please do not bring camper vans. (There is a camping park just down the road called Newton Park if you wish to camp). You can park immediately outside the Castle or in the square courtyard adjacent to the castle. Please do not park immediately before the coach house.
Directions from Warminster
Take the A36 towards Bath. Seven miles before Bath take the left turning for Norton St.Philip, Hinton Charterhouse and Midford (B3110). Proceed through all those three villages. Just over a mile after Midford you will come to a crossroads, with two linked mini roundabouts and a garage on your left.
Very shortly you will come to the next roundabout where you take the second exit (straight on). You also go straight on at the next traffic lights and proceed until you come to the roundabout with the railway going over the top of it on a viaduct. Another ¼ mile and you will take the last (3rd exit at a small mini roundabout) pass a garage on your left and then about another 12 or so houses and then just around the bend you will see Bath Community Academy School on your left. Turn very sharp left (almost back on yourself) before the school immediately after the last house on the left. Go through the stone pillars and proceed right to the top of the drive where you will find Barrow Castle on your right. You can park immediately outside the Castle There is parking at the venue, but please do not bring camper vans. (There is a camping park just down the road called Newton Park if you wish to camp). If you are coming by train the cost of a taxi from Bath station is approximately £8-10.
