GETTING YOUR CLIENTS TO SAY "YES"

Course Summary
This workshop is intended to help organisations that offer mediation to understand what works, and what doesn’t work, in the visual design and writing of promotional materials. You will learn:
The most effective ways to explain the mediation process to engage prospective clients
How to combine words and images to best communicate an attractive mediation service
Elements of visual design and layout that work best to promote your service
There will be a strong practical component to the workshop. We will work with you directly on your existing or planned materials, so invite participating organisations to bring a copy of either their website or leaflet to work with on the day. By the end of the workshop, you will have a clear set of messages about how to improve the design and text of these materials.
Who is this course for / Who should attend?
Anyone who runs a mediation service or mediation as part of a law firm etc.
Key learning objectives
Key learning points
CARM is the ‘Conversation Analytic Role-play Method’: an approach to training based on research evidence about the sorts of problems and roadblocks that can occur in workplace communication, as well as the techniques and strategies that best resolve them. CARM workshops use anonymized recordings of real-time, actual workplace encounters to provide participants with a rare opportunity to scrutinize and discern effective and less effective practice. CARM-Text transposes findings about what is effective in initial inquiry calls between mediators and potential clients to the realm of marketing materials, ensuring that explanations of mediation on an organization’s website, posters or leaflets, don’t include the same pitfalls as we see in spoken encounters.
By the end of the course you will be able to
Change the words TOMORROW on your website to better engage prospective clients
Make simple fixes to the design and layout of your website
Understand what changes are needed longer term / strategically to make your service attractive and visible
